The Memorial Service
The memorial service is often called by Christadelphians, the memorial meeting. When our Lord Jesus met with his disciples in the upper room to remember the passover, he said "do this in remembrance of me".
Thus in Christadelphian circles we gather together to remember the Lords life, death and resurrection. For convenience sake, because most don't work, the memorial meeting is held on Sunday's. The memorial meeting is one in which those who have been baptised into the faith can share together bread and wine, symbolic of the Lord's body and sacrifice. Visitors are welcome to come to witness the meeting. The baptised women in the meeting wear head coverings in accordance with the principles outlined in 1st Corinthians 11. As part of the meeting, there is time for personal and public prayer, collective worship in hymns, a 1/2 hour talk of encouragement to remain faithful and remember the Lord's life and a collection for the work of faith. The meeting will run for approximately 1 1/2 hours from 11:00am each Sunday.
