Ezekiel 38:8 "After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely."
Explanation Russia and all of its aligned nations will be dragged down by God to Israel to fight a battle. Here it's specified where the centre of the great battle will be, the mountains of Israel.
How we know this speaking of the LAST DAYS?
The verse is clear of the timing of the battle. It is specifically "in the latter years" (but that could mean anything). It's also "the mountains of Israel - which had long been desolate", the implication being that they are not desolate any more. The mountains of Israel, were desolate ever since the Jews were driven out of Israel by the Romans and the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70. Since then the land has largely been untouched by man working the ground. "They" meaning the people living in the mountains of Israel, the Jews, were brought out of the nations. This has happened consistently ever since the Zionist movement commenced, but the Jews really started returning to their homeland ever since the end of World War II, leading up to Israel being declared a nation in 1948 and onwards - there are approximately 5.2 million Jews in Israel currently. Therefore, the record of Ezekiel 38 is specifically speaking of events yet to occur but ones which will shortly take place. There is another phrase in this verse which is of great interest and which relates to the timing of Armageddon. "...and now all of them dwell safely." Ezekiel 38:9 "You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you."
Explanation This is the detail of the battle. The Russian led army will be huge, "coming like a storm, covering the land (of Israel) like a cloud".

Ezekiel 38:10-11 "Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: You will say, I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates”to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land."
Explanation While Russia and the nations accompanying it are in Israel, it appears that they will attack and rifle through towns and villages which are otherwise living peacefully. The purpose? Purely to take advantage of the people, to plunder and steal and cause havoc.

Ezekiel 38:13 "Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?"
Explanation Sheba, Dedan, referring to Saudi Arabia and the merchants of Tarshish, referring to the United Kingdom and her Commonwealth Nations (Australia, New Zealand and India) are to oppose the Russian led confederacy. To what extent they will fight is not known.
